About Me
Psychotherapy Practitioner and Psychoanalyst
Aix-en-Provence and Online

My name is Maria Gkatziani, and I am a psychotherapy practitioner and psychoanalyst. I work with children, adolescents, and adults, offering a supportive space to explore and better understand what may be happening within themselves and in their relationships with others.
A Journey Across Cultures
Originally from Greece, I lived in the United States for twelve years. Having experienced life across different countries, languages, and cultures, I understand firsthand the challenges that can come with living abroad.
This experience has made me particularly sensitive to the difficulties faced by expatriates and people from international or multicultural backgrounds: adapting to a new country, finding a sense of belonging, living far from family, navigating life transitions, or dealing with the feeling of being far from home.
My Training
I completed a five-year training program at IFAPP (Institut de Formation à la Psychanalyse et à la Psychothérapie) in Aix-en-Provence, including specialized training in psychotherapy for children and adolescents. For two years, I also participated in emotional and analytical therapy groups led by Dr Yves Sida, psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, and Claude Cohen, psychoanalyst.
Where and How to Book a Session
I offer in-person therapy sessions at the Centre Thérapeutique Le Galice in Aix-en-Provence, as well as online sessions.
Sessions are available in French, English, and Greek (Ελληνικά).
